My Brave Little Trooper

I posted about a year ago about the day that my little Chase gave me one of the biggest scares of my life.  (You can read all about it here.)  Chasey had a seizure, and even though the initial tests came back just fine and he seemed back to his usual self within a day, we still had quite a bit of following up to do with doctors, neurologists, radiologists, etc. to make sure there was no underlying cause.  This little boy has such a strong spirit (sometimes it can feel too strong as his mom :-)), but that fight and determination sure helped us all out with all the poking and prodding he had to endure.
Here he is all hooked up for his EEG.  Even the hospital staff were impressed.  They said they had never seen a young child handle it so well.  Poor little guy had to be totally sleep-deprived the night before, but he put up with all of the wires on his head like a champ.

Then, a few weeks later, he needed an MRI of his brain.  They had to sedate him for that procedure.  He did so well during the MRI, but watching the after effects of the heavy medication on my child sure made it crystal clear why we are supposed to steer clear of drugs.  It wasn't a pretty sight.
I was so proud of my little boy for handling that crazy month of tests like a little champ.  More than that, though, I was incredibly grateful that every test came back negative.  Apparently, his little brain just misfired randomly one day and there was no more to it than that.  We are so happy that he is back to his happy, healthy and strong-willed self.
