When we got back from our Germany trip, we got right into the swing of summer time fun.
There were a few baseball games left to finish out the season.
Brothers matched and played together all day.
Sadly, while we were in Germany that summer, my sweet grandmother passed away. The boys and I drove out to California to celebrate her life with the rest of my dad's side of the family.
Here are the boys with their Opi at my aunt and uncle's beautiful home.
Lounging by the pool was great, until Tyler decided to jump in without his water wings on, and my uncle Randy, who is sitting in the picture above, had to jump in, clothes and all, to retrieve that little boy. It reminded me of just why Tim and I decided against a swimming pool in the backyard while our children are young.
Chase with my Uncle Steve.
Chase was treated to an early 1st Birthday gift from Oma and Opi - his very own fire truck! I'd say he was pretty happy with the gift.
Jayden always loves to build marble race tracks at Oma and Opi's house.
Tyler likes to dig out the old train set and play with Onkel Jan's old Brio trains.
When we got back home, Chase discovered a new-found love for the scriptures stories. He pulled them out every day and pointed at the pictures enthusiastically.
He was good at making some funny little faces too...
Especially with silly glasses on his face.
There's nothing quite like the absence of schedules and free time to play with brothers in the summer.
